Lisa Polisar's love affair with mysteries began in childhood with Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes. The daughter of professional musicians, Lisa began private flute and piano lessons at age 6. She started writing stories when she was a teenager and completed her first novel at 20.
Lisa graduated from University of Hartford's Hartt Conservatory of Music, with a major in flute performance and a minor in behavioral psychology. Fascinated with the inner workings of the human mind, she continues to pursue her loves of music, writing and psychology to this day.
Lisa makes her living as a technical writer/editor, a freelance journalist, and a professional jazz flutist. She has written and co-directed numerous documentaries, one of which was featured at the 2006 Santa Fe Film Festival entitled "Vanishing Voices." Though she writes within several genres, Lisa considers fiction writing to be food for her soul, rather than an occupation.
An award-winning journalist, screenwriter, filmmaker and professional musician, Lisa has four books in print, as well as dozens of short stories (fiction), articles, and poetry.
