Penny Raife Durant is the author of nine books for children, including the award-winning young adult book, WHEN HEROES DIE, and eight books on science for kids from preschool to middle school. She has been an elementary teacher, preschool director and teacher, and teacher of writing as well as a speaker and workshop presenter. She lives in Albuquerque, NM, with her husband Omar Durant.
